Hyderabad: A 68-year-old man ended his life in an old age home on Tuesday. Residents at Goldage Home in the Shankeshwar Bazar area of IS Sadan Division were left shocked when they found the body of Akbar Ali.

Akbar Ali and his wife were residing at Goldage Home, Shankeshwar Bazar. The couple had two sons. The older one lived in Australia, while the younger one had gone into excessive debt and disappeared. As a result, the couple was admitted to Goldage Home, where they received care and support.

However, on Tuesday, Akbar Ali's despair became too much to bear, and he took the drastic step of ending his life. He was immediately rushed to Aware Global Hospital in Karman Ghat. He however succumbed the following day.

The incident has left many inmates at Goldage Home shocked. It serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health support for the elderly and the need for better mental health care in society.

Saidabad police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident surrounding Akbar Ali's tragic decision. They are actively working to determine the circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.
