Ravi Teja once again steps into grey-shaded roles; Take a look

Hyderabad: Actor Ravi Teja is super excited about the release of his upcoming film Ravanasura.

The trailer of the film is out yesterday and the film showcases the actor in a negative role. So let us take a look at Ravi Teja's career which started with negative shaded roles.

Uncredited, meatier and grey-shade roles

Ravi Teja, at the beginning of his career, played a few characters that showed him the grey shades. He was seen in an uncredited appearance in Viayashanti's Karthavyam.

He played a goon in Nagarjuna's Ninne Pelladatha and then became popular for negatively shaded roles. But soon, he started playing meatier side character roles in films like Sindhooram, Samudram and Annayya. His debut in a lead role happened with Nee Kosam in 1999. Since then, the actor never had to look back.

A 'Dhamaka' hit

Ravi Teja backed a blockbuster hit with Dhamaka which was released in December 2022. The film collected over Rs 100 crores and emerged as the biggest hit of the year after RRR. The same year, before bagging a hit, he was staying low as Khiladi and Ramarao On Duty, two of his big-budget films sunk at the box office.

Playing the Ravanasura

So right now, all eyes are on his next film Ravanasura which is hitting the screens on April 7. Ravi Teja’s most awaited crime action and edge-of-the-seat thriller Ravanasura directed by Sudheer Varma is making a huge noise.


The trailer begins as a murder mystery with Sampath Raj claiming he is innocent. Ravi Teja who is a criminal lawyer requests his senior Faria Abdullah to take up the case. But she is least interested. Then, we get to see the other shades of Ravi Teja’s character. While the police officer and the politician call him a criminal, he can be seen admitting the same in the end.

On the whole, Ravanasura is likely to bring a change in the way Ravi Teja has been looking at scripts.
