Hyderabad: Nishka Agarwal, a 14-year-old girl from Hyderabad has made Telangana proud by becoming the National champion at the 57th Junior National Gymnastic Championship.

The event was held in Kerala from 30 December 2022 to 2 January 2023. It's after 12 years that Telangana is seeing such an achievement. In 2011, Aruna Reddy from the state won the title.

Nishka Agarwal has been on a winning spree in the December-January season. The achievement at the 57th Junior Nationals is her 5th gold medal this season. Previously, she won a gold medal at the Pharaohs Cup in Egypt and three gold medals at the CBSE National-level sports meet at The Gaudium School in Hyderabad.


In 2021, Nishka won a silver medal at Khelo India Youth Games. She also won a gold and a silver medal at the Junior National Gymnastics Championship held in Jammu & Kashmir.

Nishka is looking to perform well in the upcoming Junior World Championship and Junior Asian Championship in 2023. She aims to represent India and win a medal for the country at the 2024 and 2028 Olympics.
