Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the richest among the 30 Chief Ministers with total assets of over Rs 510 crore, followed by Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu at the second with more than Rs 163 crore, and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the third with Rs 63 crore.

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) have released a report after analysing the self-sworn affidavits of all 30 current Chief Ministers in State Assemblies and Union Territories across the nation.

This data has been extracted from affidavits filed by the Chief Ministers prior to contesting their last elections.



As per the report, Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM of Andhra Pradesh has total assets of Rs 5,10,38,16,566 crore (510 crore). Among them are Rs 4,43,48,37,267 movable assents, and Rs 66,89,79,299 immovable assets.



The second richest Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu has total assets of Rs 163 Crore, including Rs 1,43,87,82,786 movable assets, and Rs 19,62,75,356 immovable Assets.

Naveen Patnaik who is the third riches CM has properties of Rs 63.87 crore, including movable assets of Rs 23,26,555 and immovable assets of Rs 63,64,15,261.


"The average of assets per Chief Minister from state assemblies and union territories is Rs.33.96 Crores. Out of the 30 Chief Ministers of State Assemblies and Union Territories analysed, 29 (97%) are crorepatis", said the report.

High Liabilities

Telangana chief minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao is among the top three chief ministers with high liabilities, followed by Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai and Maharashtra CM Eknath Sambhaji Shinde.

As per the report, KCR with total assets of Rs 23,55,37,725 (23 Crore), has Rs 8,88,47,570 (8 Crore) liabilities.



Criminal Background

Out of all 30 Chief Ministers analysed from State Assemblies and Union Territories, 13 (43%) Chief Ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves.



The data shows that the Chief Ministers have declared severe criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, and criminal intimidation.


Telangana CM KCR is at the top with 64 cases, and 37 serious IPC counts. Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stands in third position with 38 total cases and 34 serious IPC counts.
