Memories and Magnets: Two Hyderabadis explore the world through magnets

Over 14 years, two friends collected over 370 magnets from 40 nations. They then hung all the magnets on a wall and discovered a larger story. That’s when it occurred to them that this should be in the hands of the people who want to see the world.

Meet the duo—Dr. Anthony Vipin Das, an eye surgeon, and Vidushi Duggal, a writer and content creator—from Hyderabad have embarked on an unusual trip.

The two created a one-of-a-kind book titled “Around the World in Magnets” based on their travels and the magnets they collected in each location. On 18 March, the book was formally launched at a reception held in a major hotel in Banjara Hills.

“We are delighted to present you this book, which is now in your hands so that you can appreciate and explore the locations we visited as much as we did, as well as celebrate the cultures of the world,” said Vidushi Duggal, the book’s co-author.

The book, which is currently available on Amazon, is a collection of travel magnets from around the world and a portal to experiencing the world in a new way. At the book’s official launch, the writers said, “We aim to establish a community around the book and stimulate stimulating dialogues.”
